Service Navigation

NDMS assists individuals with accessing essential disability-related services and programs. We help navigate applications, connect with supports, and ensure that people receive the assistance they need to improve their quality of life, including:

  • Support with applications for the Disability Tax Credit and the Child First Initiative.
  • Guidance on available disability-related benefits and programs.

Employment Supports

We offer tailored employment services to support job seekers with disabilities in achieving meaningful employment. Our programs provide skills development, workplace accessibility solutions, and employer engagement to create inclusive work environments. 

Our services include:

  • Pre-employment programs: Job readiness training, resume building, and interview preparation.
  • Employer engagement events: Workshops and forums to promote inclusive hiring practices.
  • Accessible hiring document development: Creating job descriptions and interview materials that accommodate diverse needs.
  • Mentorship programs: Connecting individuals with disabilities to professionals for career guidance.

Accessible Community Activities

We develop initiatives that strengthen community support networks and provide essential services. These activities are designed to foster inclusion, promote well-being, and address the specific needs of Elders and other vulnerable groups.

NDMS facilitates inclusive programs that promote social connection, cultural engagement, and physical activity. Our activities ensure that individuals with disabilities can participate fully in community and recreational opportunities. 

For instance, we often offer:

  • Sewing groups: A creative space for individuals to learn and practice sewing.
  • On-the-land groups: Activities that connect participants with traditional Inuit practices and nature.
  • Accessible sports: Opportunities to participate in soccer, swimming, and other adapted recreational activities.
